August 11, 2012 is target date in order to allow time to recruit keynote speakers. Layout: demonstrations, booths, information according to interests. Makers United is an official BSU club as of last Friday, 2 Dec 2011, and will go to the Bay Area in May to experience and witness a Maker Faire. Maker Faire organizers would like to involve Student Branch through volunteers and support. Maker Faire will provide a website for the event. Organizers are hoping to have the budget complete by the end of next month. People pay for booths and tickets in order to generate revenue for booth. Discount for BSU students and possibly IEEE members. Elisa recommends having the event close to the Engineering Campus but organizers would need to contact Dean of Engineering Dept., Dr. Amy Moll.

Need contact person from IEEE Boise Section. Elisa and Randy will serve as contact until 2012 PACE Chair is available.
Location: Parking lot in front ofHemingwayCenter. Availability in SPEC for keynote speakers.
Organizers would like to know what type of demonstrations IEEE Section members would need and what power requirements.
HP Young Employees might be a group interested in participating.
IEEE Boise Section needs to account for this event in 2012 budget and include information in the newsletter with an article from organizers.

Engineer Week Banquet Planning
Target date: Tuesday, Feb. 21st. Menu will include steak option. May need student volunteers if banquet is held at BSU.

Region Award to Micron will be presented at banquet and will have to be included in the announcement. 2011 Section and Area awards will also be presented.
Could recognize new Eta Kappa Nu student members and encourage them to attend.

Student Branch Update
Held weekly study sessions starting at attendance of 3 reaching 17, with food only half the time.
Recruiting new members difficult because students say they can’t afford it or do not see a benefit.
